Do you want to see a Christmas Tree? How about 20?
Walt Disney World’s Disney Springs Christmas Tree Stroll 2022
Orlando, Florida’s Disney Springs, whose California equivalent is Downtown Disney District, hosts a favorite holiday treasure, the Christmas Tree, throughout the 120-acre complex with more than 150 venues. During the holidays, live music, strategically located across the area, maintain the festive spirit as families and couples launch their exploration by clutching a map (more on how to find it in a minute) and a strip of Disney stickers. AdventHealth sponsors the project which has Disney-philes scouring the area for the tree’s sign that will explain which sticker to attach to the map so that they can return to the distribution location for redemption of the completed map for a “special prize” (SPOILER ALERT: I’ll tell you what it is) and discounts at 30 locations.
For Disney families, this remains a great (and free) way to pass a few hours with great photo opportunities. Each of the 19 Christmas trees and 1 sneaky cruise ship reveals the Imagineers crafty artisan take on a beloved Disney story, from The Lion King and Toy Story, Frozen and Moana, to Star Wars and Black Panther, Guardians of the Galaxy and Disney theme park attractions that became movies like the Haunted Mansion.
Encouraged to go at night to seek the glow of the lit trees, take the time to go back during daylight which, while the music won’t be live, offers another option to better examine the ornaments. The larger-than-life Walkman and figure of Groot on the Guardians of the Galaxy tree and the Black Panther may be your favorites.
But first, let me save you the aggravation of showing up at Disney Springs map-less without foreknowledge of where to obtain the map. Well-meaning but ill-informed Disney Springs cast members had me wandering in circles for nearly an hour before I learned that the map distribution and redemption locations are:
The Boathouse
City Works Eatery & Pour House
Crystal Arts by Arribas Brothers
Planet Hollywood
UNIQLO
Once found, the cast members offer as many maps as people in your party, or you could take one map for the entire group (if you have children, they’ll likely enjoy pulling the stickers and placing them on the corresponding tree on the map). If your redemption is like mine, the cast member offers as many prizes as you’d like – so you could take one map and still have a prize for everyone in your party.
